Stop Smoking

We all know that smoking is bad for us but as an ex-smoker I know that it is not that simple. Through life we reinforce habits and eventually they become part of our everyday life.

Smoking is the same. When we first smoke, it is usually to make us feel better about ourselves. It could be that we thought that it would make us feel grown up or one of the gang. It maybe that smoking is something that you associate with having a drink with your friends or helping you deal with stress.

It is re-enforced each time we smoke when we are doing something we enjoy. However, what our minds don't realize is that it is the activity and feeling that accompanies the smoking that makes us feel good and that the actual smoking.

It only takes 3 days for the nicotine to be removed from our body, so why is it so hard to stop?

The addition is mainly psychological and that is why Hypnotherapy is the best way to help you stop smoking for good.

If smoking is purely a habit that you can't break, then a one off session is all you need.

However, there are other reasons why people struggle to stop and in this case it is necessary to investigate the issues involved and it may take several sessions.

There are many things that you can do to prepare yourself for a cigarette free life.

  • Set a date to quit. It is best to incorporate this with your session with us.
  • Some people like to use patches and these is fine but plan how long you want to use them for and wean yourself off them as soon as possible.
  • Take up interests where smoking is not allowed.
  • Sip water or go for a walk whenever a craving appears.
  • Find support from your friends and family
  • Quit with a friend.
