Frequently Asked Questions
What is life coaching?
Life Coaching is a successful method of identifying where you are now and where you want to be in the future and ensuring that you get there. It is about making changes, linking a world full of possibilities to a world of reality. It is about freedom, freedom to release yourself from unsatisfying or unpleasant circumstances. Having personal coaching can allow you to do what you want, feel like you have always wanted to feel and achieve everything that you deserve.
By setting personal goals and working towards them you are taking control over your life and moving it in the direction that you want it to go. Life is a series of small decisions, each decision you make will effect you in one way or another. Coaching is all about making decisions that take you towards what you truly want. Life Coaching will give you the support, encouragement, motivation and the confidence so you can work towards your ideal future. It is all about becoming and being the real you!
How does it work?
Life Coaching is often done one to one over the telephone making it flexible, easily available and convenient. However if you prefer the session to be face to face that can also be arranged. An initial consultation is required to explore what way we can be of assistance. We only start coaching when both parties feel that we are entering a successful coaching relationship.
To get maximum results it is essential to be honest and open to establish the best way forward. All coaching sessions are highly confidential and the topic of conversation is always the client's choice. For the best results we might invite you to do some creative thinking. Sometimes challenging questions can be beneficial, but the client will always be in control of what is discussed.

What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a totally natural state. We all drift in and out of hypnosis when we day dream, get engrossed in a good book or film and we all pass through it just before we go to sleep and just before we wake each day. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. The practitioner is just a guide, guiding you through your own state of hypnosis. It is state of intense relaxation, which heightens the subconscious. Your conscious mind always remains aware and in control, whilst in this altered state of relaxation. Why does hypnosis work?
Hypnosis re-programs the subconscious mind that contains it’s own individual program that controls and determines our behavior. Whatever the mind agrees with, the body responds to…and it cannot not respond.
What is self-hypnosis?
This is a state of hypnosis that you can put yourself into to work on some problems that are important to you. It is not as effective as hypnosis by a Hypnotherapist, and is not at all effective for some problems. But there are a great many problems that it is very effective in dealing with. What does it feel like to be hypnotised?
There is no feeling to hypnosis, it is andafter the fact'. When you come out of hypnosis you realise just how relaxed you have been.
Is Hypnosis medically approved?
Yes. Hypnosis has proven to be effective and has been approved by the American Medical Association since 1955. Medical Hypnosis is increasingly recognized as a powerful healing modality with applications in all fields of medicine. Medical Hypnotherapy has been shown to be effective in many areas, including patients undergoing surgery. Using this technique, patients experience less bleeding, less swelling and overall recovery time is significantly decreased.
Is Hypnosis dangerous?
No.
In fact, hypnosis is completely safe, harmless and natural. However, personal disappointments may arise due to unrealistic expectations or preconceived misinformation.
What is the difference between hypnosis and hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is the state that a person experience. Hypnotherapy is using that state for beneficial purposes. So how can being in hypnosis help resolve a problem?
When in hypnosis the body is more relaxed, physically and mentally. When this occurs the mind operates more efficiently and effectively. When the mind and body are relaxed there is better access to memories. We are a product of our memories and past experiences. Sometimes we need to return to a memory in order to resolve what happened for our peace of mind before we can move on in the future.
Why does hypnosis work?
Hypnosis re-programs the subconscious mind that contains it’s own individual program that controls and determines our behavior. Whatever the mind agrees with, the body responds to…and it cannot not respond.
Will I do something I don’t want to do?
No.
While hypnotized you will not do anything that is against your moral code, belief system, or that would endanger your safety. This is important because if your purpose to stop smoking or such is for anyone other then yourself, it is not going to happen.
Can anybody be hypnotised?
Yes, anyone can be hypnotised as long as they want to be and have an ability to concentrate. So it is not appropriate for very young children or people with certain mental disabilities. A Hypnotherapist cannot force you to go into hypnosis against your will.
Can I get "stuck" in hypnosis and never wake up?
No.
Hypnosis is a voluntary state that a subject can terminate at any time if they chose. There is no known documented case where a hypnotic subject couldn’t be awakened or was in anyway harmed by the hypnotic state.
Will I remember being hypnotized?
Generally speaking, yes. However, sometimes we uncover things that the conscious mind does not want to know about. I usually give this command before waking someone. "You may remember from this session what is safe for you to remember and that you want to remember, and forget what is not safe for you to remember or that you want to forget."
How many sessions will I need?
To stop smoking no more than two or three sessions or one double session will be required. For anything else, that depends on your motivation and desire to change. However, hypnotherapy is an effective therapy and the Hypnotherapist will want to help you in the minimum number of sessions possible. You and the Hypnotherapist will review your progress so that at any time you can make a valued judgement about how the developing is progressing.
How long does a session last?
Each session lasts approximately 1 hour, although double sessions can be arranged. Please contact us for further information.
How often will I need to see the Hypnotherapist?
This depends on the type of problem and on the progress made. The Hypnotherapist will usually see you once a week. However some clients see the Hypnotherapist once a fortnight or even once a month depending on their circumstances.
